Chan On Ying

Chan On Ying, born on 22nd November 1960 in Hong Kong, is a prominent and veteran actress working in the Chinese film industry for over 3 decades. Chan On Ying is a very famous celebrity in the Chinese culture, she is not only known for her acting, but also her work as a voice actor, her work as a radio personality and her tremendous work in the Chinese theatre industry. Chan made her debut on the Chinese silver screen in 1981 with I.Q. bau pang. She played the supporting role and instantly made her presence on the screen known to the audiences.

Her next film was Torrid Wave released in 1982, another movie where she played the supporting role and the movie became her first commercial success. In 1982, she made her debut as a lead actress on the super-hit TV series known as The Emissary. An action packed crime thriller TV series about the new generation of brave cops coming up in the police academy, follows the story about an honest cop who is assigned as an undercover cop to take down a smuggling ring.

Her next role was in 1983’s Condor Heroes, still regarded as one of the greatest TV series of all time. The script was based on the tales of 12th century Sung Dynasty. Since then, Chan has gone on to star in some of the all time great Chinese movies and TV series, she also had her own radio show.
