John Herrick Mclntire was born on 27th June 1907 in Spokane city in Washington, USA. He was also known by the name John Mc. Intire. This actor stood 6 feet tall. The legendary actor is of Irish descent. He did his graduation from the University of Southern California. Later, he started working at a radio on the show ‘Tarzan and the Diamond of Asher’. It was here on the sets of Tarzan that he met his wife first Jeanette. He married Jeanette, a film and TV actress, in 1935. They are the parents of actor Tim Mclntire and Holly Mclntire.
John was also part of another radio show, The March of Time. He was the voice of this show. It was only at the age of forty that he made his debut in movies. He was a part of a total of 65 productions. He was a part of The Asphalt Jungle in 1950 and ‘ Psycho Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ and Elmer Gantry in 1960. John is still admired for his roles in the movie Winchester’73, which released in 1950. It was a western film in which he played the role of Joe Lamont. Other movies in which he played memorable roles include The Tin Star, in which he played the role of Dr. Joseph J. McCord; The Far Country, playing Judge Gannon; and The Phenix City Story, in which he played the role of Albert Patterson, who was a politician.
Other than radio and cinema, he has also been a part of many legendary TV shows. After the mid-1950s, he featured in various TV sitcoms. He was a part of NBC show Cimarron City. He was also a part of ABC’s Naked City, American Civil War, Wagon Train, The Virginian and many other famous shows. John Mclntire died at the age of 83 due to lung cancer and emphysema on 30th January 1991 in Pasadena city of California.
