Don King

Don King is a famous boxing promoter from Cleveland, Ohio, USA. He is a controversial American figure with civil cases and convictions charged against him. King was born on 20th August 1931. He went to John Adams High and graduated in 1951. He dropped out from Kent State University and started his bookmaking operation illegally in 1954. He was charged with killing Hillary Brown who was trying to rob King’s gambling house. 13 years later in 1967, he was charged with second-degree murder of Sam Garrett who was one of his employees. People like Jesse Jackson, Gabe Paul, George Voinovich, Coretta Scott King, and Art Modell sent letters to Jim Rhodes, Ohio Governor, in support of Don King. In 1983, he was pardoned.
