Rita Ora

Rita Sahatçiu Ora is a famous British singer, songwriter, entrepreneur and an actress hailing from Pristina, Kosovo. She was born on 26th November 1990. Her family had to leave Kosovo for few political reasons so in 1991 they got relocated to London, England. She grew up in West London and did her schooling from St Cuthbert with St Matthias Primary School in Earls Court. She started off with singing from a very young age. She studied performing arts and graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School.

Rita never missed a chance to perform. She began with attending and performing at open mic sessions at her father’s pub. As an artist, these interactive sessions always helped to get a frank feedback leading to a scope for improvement. Her first ever music release was in 2007 but she formally never got credits on her initial releases. She was then a backing vocalist. In 2008, she got an opportunity to audition for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 as a British contestant and qualified on her own merit. She could not make it till the end, though.

Nevertheless, her attempts to be successful did not go in vain. She luckily got to sign with Jay Z’s entertainment company Roc Nation and released her debut #1 Record Ora (2012) at 18. She also collaborated on a line with Tezenis and scored roles in the Fifty Shades Of Grey trilogy, Fast And Furious 6, and Antoine Fuqua’s ‘ Southpaw Click to look into! >> Read More... ’. Following her celebrated presence on UK television as both a coach on BBC’s The Voice and a judge on The X Factor UK, Rita is making her mark on US Television. In 2012, after rising to prominence with her debut single “Hot Right Now,” she went on to tour in Asia, Europe, and the USA, performing on some of the most leading and reputed stages around the world from The White House to The Vatican to Glastonbury. In February 2015, she gave a fabulous performance of her beautiful song “Grateful” for the 87th annual Academy Awards, which was watched live by millions of people around the world.
