Terry Hayes was born on 8th October 1951 in Sussex, England. Terry is an amazingly talented English born Australian writer producer and author. Terry moved to Australia with his family at the age of 5. He did not have any plans getting into the film industry, and he began his career as a journalist, working in the Australian newspaper The Sydney Morning Herald. After quite a time he spent as an investigative reporter, a newspaper columnist and even working as a radio host, Hayes happened to meet the legendary director George Miller Medical doctor turned director and producer George >> Read More... when he was still working on the script of Mad Max.

He got along very well with George, and became friends with, later on George asked Hayes to work with him on the sequel of Mad max. Hayes subsequently moved to Hollywood, where he started working for Kennedy Miller as an in-house writer. He helped them write a number of scripts for their various mini-series and he even wrote an unused script for Planet of the Apes movie. In the year 2001, Terry Hayes’ amazing talent and hard-work saw him get nominated for the prestigious Bra Stoker Award.

In 2013, Hayes made his debut as an author for his highly critically acclaimed I Am Pilgrim novel. The novel did so well, that the very same year MGM bought the rights for the movie adaptation of the novel with Hayes at the helm of screenplay writing. He has another novel about to be published sometime in the 2020s.
