Miia Haavisto

Miila Kaarina Haavisto is a Finnish film director, producer, and screenwriter born on June 20, 1972. She graduated from the University of Art and Design Helsinki with a Bachelor of Arts in documentary film directing. She later earned a Bachelor of Laws (1999) from the University of Helsinki. Haavisto's remarkable career began as a production advisor at the Finnish Film Foundation (2004-2010). She made support decisions for documentaries, shorts, animation, and experimental films. She helped to shape the Finnish film industry by supporting the development of new talent and innovative projects. In 2018, she was selected for EFP's Producers on the Move program. She is also a producer at Tekele Productions. Havvisto is a Professor of Practice at Aalto University's Department of Film, Television, and Scenography, Arts, Design, and Architecture.

Haavisto is also a producer at Tekele Production.
