James Jacks was an American filmmaker. He is fondly remembered by his nickname Jim in the Industry. He was born on the 27th of December in the year 1947 in the United States and unfortunately, passed away at an early age of 66. He died on the 20th of January in the year 2014 in his then residence – Los Angeles, California, USA. He was a film producer and has given numerous hits to the industry. He has a house in Los Angeles and has lived there from the time he entered the American Film Industry. James grew up in a hardcore military family. Hence, he was habitually a very organised and disciplined person. He completed his Bachelor’s in Science (B.S) in Industrial Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
He then pursued Masters in Business Application from Cornell University. He got a job in the Financing world and worked there for a while. While he was employed as a Wall Street Financial Analyst, he decided to change his stream of work. James became a screenwriter. However, he wasn’t able to succeed and hence, subsequently became the head of the production at Circle Films. He continued in the same position until the mid-1980s when the opportunity of becoming Senior Vice President of Production at the world renowned Universal Studios landed. He did that job for almost a decade. In the 1990s, he came to the decision of becoming an independent producer instead of working for other production firms. Raising Arizona was Jacks’ debut movie as a producer. Some of his popular works is Dazed and Confused (1987), Tombstone (1993), The Mummy Click to look into! >> Read More... (1999), The Scorpion King (2002), Intolerable Cruelty (2003), sequel to the 1999 hit - The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, and the famous series of Scorpion King which was released in 2008, 2012, and 2015. The Scorpion King 4: Quest for Power was his last flick which was released after his death. He also tried his hand in television with Attila in 2001. At the age of 66, Jacks passes away at his residence in Los Angeles due to a heart attack. All his acquaintances remember him as a thorough movie lover along with being a noble, accomplished, creative, caring and passionate person. A subtle funeral was conducted to mourn him which witnessed some A-list stars of the Industry.
