Dave Cobb was born on July 9, 1974, in Savannah, located in Georgia. His parents are Mary Cobb and David Cobb. He is a famous record producer and also a songwriter. He married a woman from Albania and has a daughter. Dave is a well-known instrumentalist and recording mixer engineer. Since his family was very religious, Cobb started playing drums and took up guitar lessons at the age of four. He set foot into the music world as a session player in Atlanta. The first band Cobb joined was, "The Tender Idols" consisting of Ian Webber as a vocalist, Danny Howes as a guitarist, Guy Strauss as a drummer and Joe Jones handling the bass.
The band released three long-plays in which the second long-play was co-produced by Dave Cobb. Guitar and Bass were the two instruments played by him in the band for around seven years. Recording got him interested in the studio, and he started recording with other bands too. The record contract signed by him was very confining and it took him long to come out of the contract. When he was 27 years old, Cobb moved out from the band and started living in Los Angeles. Later on, in 2011, he moved to Nashville. Dave worked with Shooter Jennings whom he considered as family.
He met Jennings through Andrew Brightman, Cobb's manager in California. Both Cobb and Jennings together released their first collaboration record "Put the 'O' Back in Country." Dave produced the records "Oak Ridge Boys" and "The Boys Are Back" in 2009. The songs 'The White Stripes' and ‘Neil Young,' 'John Lee Hooker' were produced by the band outside their catalog. He finished the record "Metamodern Sounds in Country Music" within four days with Sturgill Simpson, whom he had met at a Billy Joe Shaver concert. Instead of using electronic methods Cobb used vintage recording methods.
He met Anderson East, a singer, and songwriter at Nashville with whom he made the record 'Delilah.' The song recording was done at the FAME Studios located in North Alabama. In the vault of FAME, they found a song by George Jackson-"Find 'Em, Fool 'Em. Forget 'Em" has been added into the record Delilah. His latest albums are for Corb Lund and Lake Street Dive.
