Later she completed acting courses in a British drama school known as 'Drama Centre London' which is a constituent college in the University of Arts London.

She was even engaged in her modeling career while doing her acting course. Mariam made her debut in acting as a supporting actress in a British science fiction horror movie 'X'tro' directed by Harry Bromley Davenport. It was a 1982 film, and Maryam D'Abo portrayed the character of Analise Mercier. Consequently, she appeared in small roles in movies like 'Until September'(a love story), 'Master of The Game' (TV Series), 'White Nights' ( drama film) and 'Arthur the King' (TV series).
