Kathy Chow

Kathy Chow Hoi-mei is a 50 years old Hong Kong actress and singer. She has many other names like Chow Hoi Mei, Zhou Hai Mei and Zhou Hoi Mei. She was born on December 12, 1966 in Hong Kong. She belongs to the Guwalgiya clan of the Plain White Banner. Her ancestry origin is of China.

She is very famous for her leading characters in Hong Kong television industry in the 1980s and 1990s like The Breaking Point and Time Before Time. She is the elder sister of Niki Chow, a famous Cantopop singer and actress. She was romantically involved with Ray Lui and entered into wedlock in the year 1988 but got divorced a year later in 1989, which left her heartbroken.

Later, on September 29, 2012, at the age of 38, she again married Julien Lepeu (35 yrs. old), her French boyfriend of six years, with a blend of both Chinese and French traditions. In July 2015, she gave birth to her first son Jacques Lepeu via Caesarean section. On 23rd November, 2016, she announced her second pregnancy on Facebook. \

After graduating from college, she participated in Miss Hong Kong pageant in 1986. During this competition, she grabbed the attention of TVB (Television Broadcasts Limited), and she bagged a role in the TV series. In 1986 itself, she also debuted in the Film Industry in the film, “Cadets on the Beat.” She has spent most of her career in the TV industry working in over 30 series. She rose to fame after her outstanding performance as a cigar smoking seductive role in the movie ‘Cheap Killers’, which got her the recognition in the West. After a decade of association with TVB, she started working with ATV in 1998 and was working with them till 2001. In between this time, she was seen acting in movies and frequently appeared in award shows. After 2001, she shifted to Beijing in search for better opportunities in her career.

After a gap of 7 years, she again started working with TVB in 2008. Kathy has worked in many popular TV series like the Yang’s Saga, The Feud of Brothers, Heir to the Throne is…, The Journey of Life, How to Pick Girls Up, The Saga of The Lost Kingdom, My Dear Son, Cherished Moments, etc.. In 1997, she won the Best On-screen couple (with Gordon Lam) for Time before Time at the TVB Anniversary Awards. She got nominated for Best Actress at the same award ceremony.

In 2009, she got nominated as the best actress and My Favorite Female Character categories during TVB Anniversary Awards for E.U. Kathy’s debut in the Film Industry was in the movie “Cadets on the Beat “ in the year 1986.
