Known for her artistic excellence, David and Lisa's undistinguished and irreplaceable co-star, Janet Margolin, was born on July 25, 1943, in New York, USA. She went to the High School of Performing Arts. She directly entered Broadway with her outstanding performances. She impressed the then director, Frank, with her remarkable performance in the play, "Daughter of Silence", and got a nomination for the Tony Award. This play paved her a zenith way to Hollywood. Frank took her as the co-star and as a schizophrenic lass in David and Lass (1962). It was her first movie and she gave a haunting performance in those days.
Janet Margolin was praised in all means for David and Lass, and was portrayed as the best actress then. Her acting was well appreciated by the critics too. But, after finding her stardom, unfortunately, she couldn't take this as an advantage to grow in the Hollywood industry and to grow in her career as well. She later did some second leads in movies like, The Greatest Story Ever Told, Nevada Smith, etc. The chances of her survival in Hollywood almost dried up, although she did do well in some of the well-acclaimed movies like Enter Laughing, Woody Allen's Take the Money and ‘ Run Click to look into! >> Read More... ’, among a few.
Later, Janet Margolin entertained her audience with her TV shows. She couldn't make out in Hollywood movies after ‘Ghostbusters’, and in television roles after Columbo: Murder in Malibu.
Janet Margolin's did not lead a very enchanting and enjoyable life though. She married Jerry Brandt in 1968, and because of some personal issues, she divorced him in 1971. After nearly eight years, she came close to TV actor and director, Ted Wass, and married him in 1979. She had two children. Janet Margolin died of ovarian cancer on December 17, 1993, in Los Angeles, California. All her ashes were later buried in West Wood Memorial Park in Los Angeles.
