Terence Stamp

'Terence Stamp', whose full name is Terence Henry Stamp, born on July 22, 1938 is a British actor. His native city is Stepney, London, United Kingdom. His family consists of his mother Ethel Esther and father named Thomas Stamp and five siblings. However, his family later migrated to Canal Road, where he did his schooling from Plaistow County Grammar School.

His father worked in the Merchant Navy due to which he couldn't spend much time with his family. Terence grew up with his mother and grandmother. At the age of three, he went with his mother to see Beau Geste and since then he became an ardent fan of Gary Cooper. His brother Chris was the lead singer of a rock music band. He was a student at Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. After passing out from school, he took up odd jobs at advertising agencies to earn quick bucks. He also assisted Reg Knight, a professional golfer.

He has worked in both theatre and movies. Among the many books that he has written is his memoir titled Stamp Album which is a tribute to his mother. He is an ardent football fan and has rarely missed any of England's matches. He is the winner of the Golden Globe Award, Seattle International Film Festival for Best Actor, and many others.

In 1960's, his romances with Julie Christie and Jean Shrimpton made headlines. After his breakup with Jean, he dropped out of the society, visited India, and stayed in Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh's ashram in Pune. In the ashram, he became Rajneesh's disciple and took meditation to recover from the loss and gain the peace of mind. At the age of sixty-four, in the year of 2002, he got hitched to Elizabeth O'Rourke.

The couple first met at one of the pharmacies at Bondi. However, their union couldn't stand the test of time and, they filed for divorce after six years of their marriage. He had also given a speech on the environmental issue on the platform of Live Earth at Wembley Stadium on July 7, 2007.
