Eddie Griffin was born on July 15, 1968,in Kansas City, Missouri, U.S. He is a very famous American comedian and Actor. He is most appreciated for playing Eddie Sherman on the American sitcom ‘Malcolm & Eddie’, the center character in the comedy film ‘Undercover Brother’ in the year 2002, and Tiberius Jefferson “T.J.” Hicks in Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo (1999) and Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo (2005). His genres of comedy are improvisational comedy, observational comedy, blue comedy and satire. In his entire career as a comedian he has made joke on every critical topic of that time like African-American culture, Recreational drug use, human sexuality, race relations, politics, racism, everyday struggles, and religion.
Griffin was raised by his single mother, Doris Thomas. She used to provide for the family by the job of an operator in a phone company. When he turned 16, in the year 1984, he moved to Campton, California, with his cousins. In 1989, he randomly hopped on the open mike of comedy club to win a bet, ended up getting applause for his stand-up based on family stories. That is how his career started. He had to stay away from his home because of his career. He moved back to Los Angeles, California, in March 1992, to spend time with his mother, when she got injured in a car accident. Griffin starred in some iconic films like The Meteor Man (1993), Double Take (2001), Norbit (2007), etc. He was also honoured by rank number 62 on comedy Central’s list of the 100 greatest stand- ups of the time.
In winter 2019, his comedy special ‘E-Niggma’ was telecasted on showtime. In the show, he discussed about his 30 years of career in the industry, real world issues he had to face, interracial relationships and a bit of his personal life including his ex-wives, 10 children and being a 52 year old man. He also mentioned that he was married four times. He was awarded as the best actor for his movie ‘Last Supper’ in the two most renowned film festivals- the International Film Festival 2014 and San Francisco Global Movie Fest 2014. His live albums The Message In The Hat (1993), The Message (1999), Freedom Of Speech (2008), and You Can Tell ‘Em I Said It (2011), won hearts of all his fans.
