He is the son of Judith Stoll and Stephen Stoll. He had an innate draw towards drama. He studied drama from Long Lake Camp for Arts. He is an American actor best known for his role as Dr. Ephraim in the hit American television horror series on the FX Network called The Strain. He also played Congressman Peter Russo in the television series The House of Cards, for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2013. He was also a cast member of Law and Order: LA and Darren Cross in the film Ant-Man.
He also did a Broadway performance of Intimate Apparel, for which he got a nomination for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Play at the Drama Desk Award. In 2011, in the film Midnight in Paris, he portrayed Ernest Hemingway. In 2014, he played an NYPD Police Officer named Austin Reilly in the film Non-Stop and Paul Altman in “This is where I leave you,” a comedy-drama. In 2015, he played Ben Day in the movie Dark Places, based on a novel. He got married to Nadia Bowers on 21st June 2015. They are expecting a son soon.
