Brian Steele

Brian Steele is a versatile American actor, who is popularly known for bringing the monsters and other creatures to life in many of his films. He was born in Milford, Michigan. He was hyperactive and very adventurous during his childhood. He was raised up in Highland, Michigan and he usually felt awkward and outcast with his fellow students. But this was changed when he saw some local Detroit TV shows and found out about Monster Week, The Ghoul, etc., which fascinates him. During his 7th grade, he grew up to six inches until his schoolmates called him, slinky. He stands taller than his classmates, which added to the awkwardness he felt. But watching the on-screen icons such as Buster Keaton, Laurel and Hardy and The Three Stooges-inspired him to embrace the awkwardness he had physically. Initially, he studied in an automotive trade school so he can help on his father’s business, but realized that he has bigger and better dreams. In the year 1985, he shifted to Florida Keys with a hope that he could pursue his dreams there. However, he found himself working as a bagger in a grocery and has worked in a go-cart track and at the local marina. He then decided to move again to L.A. with only $700 in his pocket, some clothes and a bicycle.

His breakthrough happened in Los Angeles when the CreatureBoy was born. He was hired by the Universal Studios Theme Park to perform as Frankenstein. He was terrified to hear it, but the management told him just to suit up and walk in the Theme Park with thousands of tourists. Brian found it hard at first, but he never regarded all the hardships as setbacks. That’s when he realized what he wanted in his life. During that time, Universal was looking for someone that will wear Harry’s costume in several scenes in the American sitcom, Harry and the Hendersons, and he actually fits for what they are looking. He appeared in the 48 episodes of the series, and the cast helped him to develop his talents more. They have been very supportive of him since this is the first time he’s working in a TV set. After this, he worked in the sci-fi series, Earth 2. This time, Brian already learnt about the place of creature actors in Hollywood. He has then established himself as the man who can bring monsters and creatures to life. In 1997, he worked in another sci-fi film, The Relic and the survival drama film, The Edge.

In the same year, he worked in the vampire superhero action film, Blade: Trinity. He found his character as Mr. Wink as the most difficult and challenging for him since he’s sporting a suit that weighed 130 pounds. He trained for three months in preparation for his role; however, he also finds Mr. Wink as the most rewarding and most successful character he’s ever done. Although, one can hardly recognize his real face, because he is always in costume, this talented lad surely brings the characters he portrays into a new level.
