Jinal Mehta was born into a billionaire family. He is the CEO of Torrent Power. He has completed his education with a Bachelor of Business Studies (BBA) and further Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) Sydney, Australia. Mehta has received this year’s BT-PwC India’s Best CEO award in the energy sector. The company appointed Jinal Mehta as MD of the power business in the year 2018. He started his career as a trainee in the commercial department of the Torrent Power generation business. He gave his three years to Torrent Power’s 1530 MW SUGEN in Surat and learned the project management skills and further he gave his next three years to Torrent Power’s 1200 MW DGEN project in Dahej and became part of Torrent Power distribution Business too, he also looks after oversees Torrent gas.
Within four years, his vision was to develop renewable power generation and distribution to be the main engines of growth for Torrent Power and develop it as one of India’s largest city gas distribution companies (CGD). He plans to make CNG, PNG readily available for transport, and PNG for industrial Use.
