Rachel Roy

Rachel Roy is a famous fashion designer. This artist has worked with many famous people of Hollywood and also outside Hollywood. Rachel was born in California to a Bengali father and a Dutch mother. Roy then got the opportunity to be an intern in the fashion label Rocawear, which was owned by the singer Jay-Z and she was so good at her job that she promoted as Head of the women's and children's division within a short period. It was in this time Roy met her husband Damon Dash who was also the co-founder of Rocawear, but they got separated after a few years of their marriage in 2009. In the year 2005, a fashion label "Rachel Roy New York" was started up by the designer and the following year was a very special one in her life as she was honored for her brilliant work towards the fashion world, with an award from the Bollywood industry. In 2009, "RACHEL Rachel Roy" which was Roy's second label was launched into the world, and this proved to be a more successful brand than her first label. Later she went to work with the popular songwriter/pop singer Estelle, who was also a Grammy Award Winner on a jewelry line.

Rachel has worked with many celebrities like Michelle Obama, Kate Hudson, Penelope Cruz, Jennifer Garner, Tyra Banks, etc. She was on cloud nine when she was asked to appear on the Oprah Winfrey's Show not just once but twice. Since then she had become the talk of the town, and Roy was featured in the magazine Teen Vogue. Her brother, Rajendra Roy works at the Museum of Modern Art that is situated in New York as a Chief Curator. "Jones Apparel Group" got in collaboration with Rachel Roy's brand around 2008 and after that Roy got the chance to design affordable shoes and clothing.
