Sudhir M. Parikh is an American medical doctor of Indian origin known for his expertise in the treatment of asthma and allergies, as well as for his social activities. He was born and brought up in Gujarat, in a middle-class family of seven people. He graduated from BJ Medical College, Ahmedabad, Gujarat University, in 1970. In 1980, he set up his private practice in Hoboken, New Jersey, and is now associated with several hospitals. Dr. Sudhir Parikh is married to Dr. Sudha Parikh, who is the co-chairman and co-publisher of Parikh Worldwide Media.
Dr. Parikh, a doctor by profession, also runs a media company. He is the chairman of Parikh Worldwide Media Inc., making him the head of the largest Indian-American publishing group in the U.S. In 2019, Dr. Parikh acquired ITV Gold, the oldest Indian-American television station. He also serves on the board of the U.S.-based Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) and as vice chairman of the Indian American Republican Council (IARC), among many other things.
Dr. Parikh has received a number of awards for his contributions, such as the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman award in 2005, the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in the U.S., and many more. He also received the 2010 Padma Shri Award, India’s highest civilian honor. Currently, Dr. Parikh is working on empowering second-generation Indian-Americans in the United States and young Indians in India through his publications. He has received numerous recognitions and has created a lasting legacy in the community for his service.
