Max Lang was born in 1982 in Duisburg, North-Rhine - Westphalia, Germany. He is an illustrator, director, and writer. He is an Oscar-nominated animation director for his work in The Gruffalo (2011) and Room on the Broom (2014)and a BAFTA winner. As an illustrator he has worked on the books of his wife Suzanne Lang - Hooray for kids !, All kinds of Families, Families! Families! Families! , Grumpy Monkey.
As a writer, he has written movies like Gruffalo (2009), Room on the Broom (2012), Superwomen (2021), Zog and the Flying doctors (2020), and Zog (2018), Zig man (2015), and many more. He has also worked as an assistant director in the first season of The Amazing World of Gumball for Cartoon Network and as a director in the Nickelodeon animated TV movie Albert.
