A casting director acts as a middleman. They are the one who finds the suitable actors needed to fill roles in TV shows, movies, commercials, music videos and theatrical production. A casting director is a professional who auditions actors and actress and confirms their role. They choose the best and talented actor or actress that will suit the role for productions. A casting director considers several factors for example age, gender, and physical character, while choosing the best actor and actress for the role.

The first and foremost thing a casting director does is that he reads each script. This helps him to understand and get the basic idea for the type of role he needs to fill. A casting director also considers a director’s and producer artistic vision for each role. The casting director directly contacts well-known actor and actress with the help of their agents. The actor and actress are called for auditioning in front of casting directors, and they are asked to read the selected part of the script by casting director.

A casting director sometimes asks an actor or actress to deliver few lines or dialogues in a certain way or tone. Many casting director directors work for production companies, studios or casting agencies.
