Dale Cutts was an actor and writer who was famous for Die Voortrekkers (1973) and Forever Young. Dale was born on 07th May 1938. He was born in Durban and did his schooling at Northlands Boys High School. While Dale was in Std 1 (Grade 3), he won a bursary for elocution. He then completed his BA degree at the University of Natal in 1958. In the initial phase of his career, he worked as a radio announcer at the SABC. Dale also wrote plays and serials. One of his many works includes Squad Cars. It was in 1964 when he finally started working in a professional theatre.
Besides this, Dale was also a principal actor along with PACT Drama Company. While he was a freelance actor, he worked with multiple companies and left a very significant impression behind. One of the major highlights of his career was with the Market Theater. Dale Cutts died on 19th April 2013. In his entire lifetime, Dale Cutts was nominated for various awards. Finally, in 1992, he won the Sunday Star/Johannesburg Critics Circle Award for playing Friar Lawrence in Romeo and Juliet. In February 2005, he won the Naledi Lifetime Achiever Award.
