Andy Richter is an American actor, comedian, and writer. He was born on 28th October 1966 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States. He was brought up in Yorkville, Illinois. He took up a film major while in Columbia College Chicago and learned the basics of comedic acting by participating in student films, projects, and videos. After leaving Columbia in 1988, he started working as a production assistant in Chicago. In 1989, he began training in Chicago’s Improv Olympic theatre. Hence, he became a house performer within a year. He played in several Chicago theatres before meeting Conan O'Brien. He got married to Sarah Thyre in 1994.
Richter served as an announcer, writer, and trusty sketch partaker on O’Brien’s TBS show, Conan, from 2010 to 2021. Earlier to that, worked on “Late Night With Conan O’Brien” from 1993 until 2000, and went on to take up other projects later. Apart from his appearances in American television, he has worked in many films like “Dr. Dolitte 2(2001), “Elf”(2003), “Madagascar”(2005), “Blades Of Glory”(2007), “Aliens In The Attic”(,2009), and “Girlfriend's Day”(2017). He had bagged nominations for Primetime Emmys about 7 times. He had been honored with Writers Guild of America Awards for 3 times(1997, 2000 and 2022).
