Born in 1959 in Pontypridd, Glamorgan, Andy Hockley is a Welsh actor who has participated and performed in theatres all around the UK extensively for 30 years.He has contributed to the theatre with a role, and his works have enabled him to worldwide exposure. His excellent contribution and work in the industry has take him to countries like Ireland, Singapore, Denmark, Switzerland ,and Poland. Hockley was also given the credit for some excellent films like ‘Much Ado About Nothing” and “Robin Hood- Prince of Thieves.” His other commendable work includes ‘Life on Mars’ which released in 2006. Lately, as “Dame” he has also appeared in 16 pantomimes at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry. Healso works as avoice actor and has voiced “Y Celyn” and “Adult Tomjon” in Cosgrove Hall’s adaptations of Terry Pratchett’s “Discworld novels.” Since March 2017, in ‘The Archers,’ Andy has played the part of the building contractor and modern slaver “Philip Moss” on the very long-running and famed BBC Radiofour drama.
He had already been a participant of various roles in ‘The Archers’ such as ‘a bogus removal man’ in 1987, two policemen “an unsavory debt collector,” and many more. Still, at the age of 62, he is providing the content to the best of his ability and with all his skills, he is still blessing his fans with voiceovers or his top-notch contribution in films.
