Saqi Banerjee is an Indian singer, composer and actor. He is a Bengali singer who was born and raised in Kolkata, India. Saqi was interested in music from a young age as he was surrounded by music and literature. His father Bachchu Bandyopadhyay was a music director. Saqi has been a member of various bands since 2004. He is associated with his new band Brahmaputra. Eventually, he earned ample opportunities in the industry. Saqi wrote and composed two songs for the National Award-winning Srijit Mukherji-directed film Jaatishwar (2013). He wrote “Singho Rashi” and “Bolo Konta Priyo” for the film. After that, he composed for the movie Guddu Ki Gun (2015). Saqi also composed a song, “Sondhe Namar Aage”, for Biday Bomkesh (2018). He also composed the background score for Hoichoi Original Buker Moddhye Agun (2023). Saqi composed music for the short Butterflies of War (2017). Saqi initially worked as a scriptwriter for many reality shows of ZEE Bangla. He wrote scripts for Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Didi No 1. He also wrote for big channels like Discovery Channel and National Geographic. Saqi became after joining the big Bangla band Cactus as a vocalist. Siddhartho Roy, founder of the band gave him the opportunity. Saqi stayed in the band till 2020. He got married to Esha Yousuf in 2018. After that, he took the big decision of his life. The multi-talented star shifted to Bangladesh. He pursued music in Bangladesh as he felt the rock genre had better potential in the country. Saqi is also the writer of his poetry book Kholosh, published by Noirita Café. The book came out in Ekushey Boi Mela, the Book Fair in Bangladesh.
