A legendary director who has created the most exceptional of films for more than decades, Tarun Majumdar is the most respected personality in the Indian film industry. He has successfully recreated their works to the big screen, which has been acclaimed by the critics as well as the audience. A film becomes a full- fledged entertainer when it also has a combination of a good plot and great music or soundtrack. The name Yatrik is a stage name for a trio of directors: Tarun Majumdar, Sachin Mukherji, and Dilip Mukherji. The trio did amazing quality films together until they started doing separate works until 1963. He then went on to make some of the most evergreen hits for the Indian film industry. In the 1990s, Majumdar retired from the film industry. And for a decade, he laid back and took rest after his long years of service. He made a comeback in the year 2004 with the film “Alo”, which was again a literary adaptation that had been appreciated by the audience as well as the critics. His contribution to the film industry is extremely huge; one could not comprehend to calculate it quantitatively nor qualitatively. Majumdar has been awarded a Padma Shri in the year 1990. He has been further credited with many more national awards, and other further awards. No number of awards can describe the talent that this eminent personality possesses.
