Tapati Munshi is a theater activist and actress from Kolkata, India. She is a dedicated worker in Bengali theater. She is also the founder of the theater group known as Smikshana in Bengal. She has worked on several TV serials and movies. She is a supporting actress who has performed in multiple films such as Abraham, Sadhu Babar Lathi, Ananya Saradiya, Fishy, Parcel, etc. She started her career as an actress at the age of fifty. She was taught acting by her husband and theater personality, Pankaj Munshi. Even though she is the wife of a famous theater personality, she has always played small roles. As a supporting actress, she has always graced the stage with her small roles. She is very active on social media sites like Facebook, where she loves to chat with her audience. She has performed in over 40 films in her career.

She made her debut in the film known as Amra Panch, directed by Ashish Mitra. She used to perform in serials at the beginning of her career. She got an opportunity to act in Musal’s film. She has also performed in films like Kavitha and Teresa, where she played the role of a beggar. She received a lot of respect on the set, even though she had a very small role in the movie. She has never gotten such respect as a veteran actress in any of the Bengali films. Tapati has played several supporting roles in films like Meghnadvadh Rahasya and Varunbabu's Bandhu. She is quite comfortable performing in short films instead of the big ones because of the stereotypes prevailing in the film industry. She has made even the smallest of characters exceptionally likeable to the audience with her outstanding performing skills.
