Rendagam is an action thriller scripted and directed by Fellini. “Arya” produced the film. Gautham Sankar cranked the camera. “A H Kaashif” composed the music. The film features Arvind Swamy, Kunchacko Boban, Jackie Shroff, Aadukalam Naren, Eesha Rebba, and Aneesh Gopal.

Kichu wants to settle in Sweden with Kalyani, his girlfriend. Kichu had been doing small jobs breaking the law for his well-wisher, Sridharan. As he wants to settle abroad, Sridharan asks him to do a job that will provide him with a lump sum. Kichu accepts it and befriends David, who is said to have lost his memory. Only if Kichu gains information from David about the details of a Gold treasury worth crores could he live his life as he dreamed. Was he successful? Who is David? Did he regain his memory? The rest of the plot deals with it.

Star Performance
Arvind Swamy’s performance is fantastic, and Kunchacko is natural as usual. Jackie Shroff appears in a cameo role.

Though there are a lot of gangster movies released at regular intervals with similar plots, this one looks different, with a lot of twists and turns. Yet, certain scenes needed to have been filmed better. Started as a gangster film with interesting plot, the film continues as a travel film, which irks the audience. Similarly, the action block in the pre-climax scene raises a lot of questions as it loses its logic. The music and cinematography are perfect, and they are the pillars of the film.

What’s There?

  • The plot is different
  • The performances of the stars are natural
  • Twists and turns are good

What’s Not There?

  • Some scenes needed a better filming

Rendagam has some flaws besides its good performances and twists and turns. If you like action cum travel genre films, you can try this film. The three-part franchise will have two more releases soon.
