Gopalakrishnan in Erode, Tamil Nadu, India. He was married to Kavitha and had two daughters Surabhi and Shreya. He did his schooling at Diamond Jubilee Higher Secondary School, Gobichettipalayam, Erode. He graduated from the PSG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore. In 2009, he worked in Naadodigal. In 2011, he worked in Poraali. In 2012, he worked on Vettai. In 2013, he worked on Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga and Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam.
