The story is about Lakshmi, a widow who raises her son single-handedly. Besides caring for her son, Santosh, she cared well for her father-in-law, Thiruvenkadam. Lakshmi is a selfless woman who doesn't care about herself, always pamper her son, and fulfills others' wishes. Santosh gets married to Pavithra. Pavithra is attracted to her mother-in-law, who cares for everyone more than herself. The affectionate Pavithra wanted to do something good for her young mother-in-law. Harikrishnan is a chef, and he runs a restaurant. When Lakshmi and her family visit his restaurant, Hari falls for Lakshmi. Unknowing this, Lakshmi moves well with Hari like a friend after a few meetings.

Hari and Santosh didn't have good terms, and they clash often. Hari moves to the apartment where Lakshmi resides. Due to an issue with Santosh, Hari had to shut his business. Later, with the help of Pavithra and Lakshmi, he participates in a cookery show and becomes famous. He gets a cooking order, but he struggles as he doesn't have a huge kitchen to make the order. Once again. Pavithra and Lakshmi help him. This doesn't go well with Santosh. What happens when Santosh knows that Hari is in love with Lakshmi? The rest of the story deals with this.

The show premiered on 22 March 2021 and is still airing, consisting of 275 episodes. Devayani, VJ Parvathy, Abhishek Shankar, and many more were the lead characters in this series. The story revolved around the life of a woman named Lakshmi. Her life is peaceful because she cares for her family and faces all life issues with calmness. While she loves her son (Santosh), she neglects herself. She loves everyone except herself because she is always devoted to others. During the show, Pavitra, Lakshmi's daughter-in-law, strives to bring some joy to her mother-in-law after the marriage of Santhosh. Hari's Restaurant hosts a marriage party for Santhosh and Pavithra after their wedding.  Lakshmi’s love story begins when Chef Hari Krishnan discovers her and falls in love with her.
