Rachitha Mahalakshmi

Meenakshi is a popular, talented and young Tamil television actress who is also seen acting in a few small character roles in Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada movies alongside her television appearances and ad commercials. Meenakshi is popularly by her full name, i.e., Thanga Meenakshi. She is also known popularly by the name Rachitha, which she uses as her official name. Her original family name is Mahalakshmi, but she appears on Tamil Tele serials with the name of Thanga Meenakshi.

Meenakshi was born to Tamil parents, settled in Bangalore, Karnataka in the late 80’s. She did her schooling and college from Bangalore and graduated with Master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. She first started out her career as a VJ in Kannada television channel and later made her debut in Kannada movies, Kannada serials and gradually shifted her base to the Tamil film and television industry. Meenakshi has acted in several Tamil movies in numerous supporting character roles but what earned her fame and made her a Tamil household name is through her strong acting skills showcased in the Tamil Television serials.

Till date, she has acted in four Tamil Tele serials. Those serials are mainly typical daily drama and saas-bahu type of daily Tele soaps. In this serial, Meenakshi essayed the role of Meenatchi – the main female protagonist who falls in love with an NRI boy and gets engaged to him against her family’s will.

In her real life, Meenakshi recently got married to Chennai-based producer Dinesh Gopalswamy.
