It was a new try of Tamil singing contest of Indian music aired on Raj tv. This program was the best try to bring out new Carnatic talents from all over south India. It was a show for youngsters with an age limit of 15-23. There were three shows telecasted. This show was aired on every weekends between 9.30 an 10.30 pm. This show was sponsored by Tanishq a gold and diamond jewellery story. The winners were awarded with 5 lakh rupees worth of jewelery. The permanent judges of all three seasons are eminent vocalists Papanasam Ashok Ramani and Nithyasree Mahadevan.
The chiefs guests of the three seasons were M. Balamuralikrishna,
Sudha Raghunathan, S. Sowmya, G. V. Prakash,
Shakthisree Gopalan, and others. The compere is Sreechitra. First 50 contestants are selected through auditions, and the rounds require the contestants to perform what the judges ask for. Then the contestants are eliminated according to their scores. Then the top 10 contestants are selected and sent to the main level competition.
The auditions are held at different places across South India where young budding talents from many places participate and enhance their skills in Carnatic music. This is one of the best shows where young talents are given free space and a stage to develop their skills and are trained well in Carnatic Music.
