Plot
Two districts in village Ramnad get into trouble due to politics played by certain bureaucrats.
Star Performance
Shanthanu does deliver a commendable performance despite the character being underwritten. The rest of the cast does a decent job. Despite weak writing.
Analysis
The film delves into several issues like caste politics, water scarcity and more but doesn't make any impact in showcasing that. The film has a generic tone to it, offering nothing new. Most of the political drama films are seeking justice for the people or the impact afflicted to the people. This film has a very black and white tone. One section being holier than thou and the other one being constantly manipulative. The film also glorifies some things that depart from the issues the film is focused upon. The actors did their job well despite the weak writing of the film. Even the main conflict in the film is so poorly constructed that you don’t feel anything. The film is focusing on a narrative that is not strong enough to hold the attention of the audience. The film has so many problematic sequences. The romance between Shanthanu and Anandhi is really hard to watch. The hero kissing the heroine without her consent and many more. Raavana Kottam is a generic political drama that doesn't even scratch the surface.
