Plot
Arjun and Kayal are husband and wife. They fell in love with each other and married in a dream wedding setup. After 12 years of family life, Kayal loses the grip on their marriage and decides to give up her relationship with Arjun. As per her wish, they choose to quit their marriage. Arjun decides to drop her at her parent’s house. On their road trip, Arjun’s car is struck. The couple meets Rakshit and Deepika, truck drivers, who offer them help. Kayal moves with them to a nearby café. When Arjun repairs his car and moves to the café, he can’t see Kayal there. After a few inquiries, he meets Rakshit, who denies that he has anything to do with Kayal. What happened to Kayal? Who are Rakshit and Deepika? Will Arjun find out Kayal? The rest of the film showcases these.
Star Performance
Ajith’s screen presence is terrific. His emotional performance is awesome. His risky fight scenes and car sequences prove once again that dedication will be seen against his name in the cinema dictionary. Trisha is decent in her role. Regina has got a solid grey-shaded role. She excelled in it. Her body language, looks, and dialogue delivery are good. Arjun is fantastic as ever. His combination scenes with Ajith remind us of their previous hit, Mangatha. Aarav has a short role, yet he looks neat.
Analysis
Already, we all know that it is an adaptation of a Hollywood film. So, everyone who knows this detail would have browsed the Hollywood film and known Vidaamuyarchi’s base plot. However, it is a screenplay that could do wonders. Did it make? The screenplay is not weak, yet it lags in a few places. However, when we watch the film from the beginning, we’ll find that it needed that pace at that position. But, the opinion differs, and if the screenplay had been racy, it would have been better. Magizh should be appreciated for not making Ajith’s intro a grandeur one. Both the director and the hero should be appreciated for not inserting the masala kind of things just for commercial value. The action choreographer should be appreciated, and Ajith should be crowned for his risky fights. Anirudh’s BGM is good. The visuals are captivating, and the edit could’ve been better.

Verdict
Vidaamuyarchi stays true to its title. It may not be a Viswaroopa Vetri, but, it’s a good one-time watch, not only for Ajith fans, but for general audience, who love romantic action-thrillers! For the ardent fans, it is …. Ajithey!
