Pugazh has been in the news for a long time and finally it has found its way to theatres. The angry youngster of Tamil cinema is back to entertain you. Yes, Pugazh has Jai playing the angry youngster against a corrupt politician. Let’s see how it has turned out to be.
There are two groups including the one under the leadership of an ordinary man Jai and the other a political group, which is under the leadership of Manimaran, a corrupt politician. Manimaran attempts to get hold of a playground property. Jai fights for the cause and the rest of the story is about how he emerges victorious in teaching a lesson to the evil people.
Jai slips easily into his character of a youngster who is hell bent on teaching a corrupt politician a lesson or two. Karunas has good scope to perform, and he has done it well. He can try out such meatier roles hereafter. Maarimuthu does the role of a corrupt politician in a commendable manner and his dialogue delivery is especially good. Surabhi looks good on screen, but she doesn’t have much to perform.
Director Manimaran, who had earlier directed the 2013 flick Udhayam NH4, starring Siddharth, has come out with a political drama and has taken care that it touches a contemporary issue of today.
What’s not there?
If you are ok with watching a regular political drama then just drop into the nearest theatre to watch Pugazh.
