Well, the title of Pokkiri Raja is inspired from the 1982 Rajinikanth film. How has Jiiva managed to impress his fans in this 2016 film of the same name? Read more to know..
Jiiva has the habit of yawning often. Due to this innocent habit, he loses his love and job. Once he bounces upon Hansika and gets attracted towards her. A thief snatches the handbag of Hansika, and our typical Kollywood hero gets it safely from the thief. What he sees in her bag visibly shocks him since he finds cigarette and liquor in it. Hence, he forms a wrong impression of Hansika.
Later Jiiva gets a job in Hansika’s office itself. There also his yawning habit continues, and he is about to be terminated from his services. Hansika is also involved in social activities in the film. Once Jiiva goes for a foreign trip with Hansika and her group. Sibiraj is a big rowdie in that place, and JIiva finds a fault in him for which the former is eventually sent to jail. Sibiraj, who cannot withstand the humiliation plans to kill Jiiva. In the meantime, Jiiva changes his opinion about Hansika and falls in love with her. Will Hansika reciprocate Jiiva’s love? What about his yawning habit? Watch the movie to find out.
We cannot say that this role is a heavy role for Jiiva. It seems to be a cakewalk for him, and his comic timing is utilized well in the movie. We have got used to seeing the character of Hansika in many Tamil films, and her performance is quite ok. Sibiraj enacts the role of a different villain, and he has done a convincing job. Yogi Babu handles the comedy element well while Manobala, Mayilsami, Chitra Lakshmanan, and Ramdass have ably supported.
Director Ramprakash Rayappa, has dealt with the yawning habit of Jiiva in a comical manner. He deserves credit for that. This film is different from his previous venture Tamilzhukku En Ondrai Ayutthavum.
What’s not there?
Pokkiri Raja is a treat for all the comedy loving movie-goers.
