Nimir” is a comedy-drama movie directed by “ Priyadarshan.” The film is the official remake of super hit Malayalam movie, Maheshinte Prathikaaram featuring Fahadh Faasil in the lead role. The film is produced by “Santosh T Kuruvilla” under the banner Moonshot Entertainment and Red Giant Movies distributed the film. The song composition is by Darbuka Siva and “B Ajaneesh Loknath.” The background score is by Ronnie Raphael. “NK Ekamabram” is the cinematographer and MS Ayyappan Nair is the editor. Udhayanidhi Stalin, Namitha Pramod, Parvathy Nair, “ Samuthirakani,” “MS Bhaskar,” “ J Mahendran,” “ Karunakaran,” Arul Doss, Maala Parvathi, Ganja Karuppu and Imman Annachi are in the star cast.

The story plot is nothing big but the hero takes revenge on the person, who slapped him. Until he completes his revenge, he promises himself not to wear slippers. Did he succeed in his challenge? Watch the film in theaters!

Star Performance

While comparing with his previous performances, Udhayanidhi has improved a lot in front of the camera. Namitha Pramod is a good entry to Tamil. She emotes well and attracts the audiences with her girl-next-door look. MS Bhaskar has given a clean performance, as usual. Parvathy's character didn't synch with the story.

Although it is a remake, Priyadarshan had a lot to do with the flick. The characterization is good for the lead roles and kudos to the scriptwriter. Priyadarshan should have gone for some other artists to play Samuthirakani role. Yes, his potential was not used and he just appears for namesake. Priyadarshan should have adopted some scenes to the Tamil sensibilities and they reflect the Kerala trend.

What’s There?

  • Performances by Namitha Pramod and MS Bhaskar receive applause
  • BGM is astounding; songs are good but not much impressive
  • Minute detailing are captured well
  • Scenes between Mahendran and Udhayanidhi are good
  • Screenplay is appreciable

What’s Not There?

  • Star Cast is not perfect
  • Samuthirakani’s talent is wasted
  • Some scenes didn’t suit the Tamil sensibilities
  • Second half is not gripping than the first half

Performance wise, the film is good. Namitha Pramod will get good chances in Kollywood, hereafter. Overall the film is worth watching and the audiences will not feel that their money is wasted!
