Plot
MG Ramasamy is a rural doctor, who treats almost all health complications. His son Anbalippu Ravi is a famous person in his village. Ravi and MGR don’t have good terms. When anyone comes for treatment, Ravi misguides them and gives them a poor feedback about his father. There is a mountain nearby that has some medicinal values. Knowing about the truth, a biggie plans to grab the mountain. Will MGR and his son join together to solve this issue? The rest of the film deals with this.
Star Performance
The stars performed as directed, and there is no special role for any of them.
Analysis
The story starts with a promising note, but the audience gradually feels bored as it gets down to an amateur movie. It doesn’t seem to be a movie made by an experienced director who has given hits like Varuthapadadha Vaalibar Sangam and Seema Raja. Samuthirakani is wasted in the film, and the audience is quizzed how the actor, who has given fantastic films like Sattai, accepted this role. He is used as a comedian like in Kaala Karikalan. Saranya Ponvannan plays Sathyaraj’s wife, and she doesn’t have a substantial role. Pala Karuppiah plays the main villain. Singampuli plays Sathyaraj’s assistant. The cinematography is not great, and the editor should have trimmed a few more scenes. The music is not impressive. With a huge star cast, the director should have opted for a better script. The comedy scenes are weak and amateurish.

Usually, Sasikumar’s movies have a significant impact. Similarly, it was highly expected that this film would make it big. If Ponram had penned and executed everything properly, the film might have attracted the audience. MGR Magan – Not a must-watch!
