Vinodhini Vaidyanathan is a prominent theatre and film actress in Kollywood. He graduated B. Sc. At Ethiraj College for Women in Chennai and did her masters in Human Resources Management at XIME, Bangalore. Vaidyanathan holds her 2nd master's degree in Psychology at the University of Madras and she also attended Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram where she had her PG Diploma in Yoga Therapy. She started her theatre journey in 2003 and has collaborated with different theatre groups before she became a full-time actress in Koothu-p-Pattarai, a popular theatre troupe in Chennai.
And then, she started freelancing with several theatre groups in 2010. She made her first film appearance in the Tamil drama film, Kanchivaram in 2009 after she was spotted by director Priyadarshan during a performance with Koothu-P-Pattarai. The following year, director M Saravanan had watched her perform in a theatre play entitled Saami Aatam, where she recited a 45-minute monologue and played three different characters.
The director got impressed and cast her in his debut film Engaeyum Eppothum in 2011. Vaidyanathan’s performance as Ananya’s sister was well received even though it was just a short one.
