Plot
The story of the movie revolves around a village called Vanangankudi. The elections in the village are dominated by Koppulingam. He belonged to a superior community. For the upcoming elections, the party nominated Koppulingam again. However, Nandan who belongs to a scheduled caste asked to be the representative this time. Unfortunetly, Koppulingam’s men killed him in an accident.
At Nandan’s funeral Koppuligam received a message that town is being converted into reserved consistency which means that he will no longer be able to control the village. Horrified by this, Koppuligam announces his acceptance for a SC candidate. Koozhpaana belongs to SC. Koppuligam manupilated him in being the representative for the upcoming elections. But he underestimated Koozhpaana’s power. When Koppuligam tried sending him away from the panchayat, the villagers started protesting. Soon, Koppuilgam revealed Koozhpaana’s real name, Ambedkumar. The villagers were heavily disappointed. Koppuligam denied Koozhpaana from hosting the flag. The condition worsened when Koozhpaana’s grandmother’s corpse was denied the entry in the burial ground.
Koozhpaana goes to meet BOD, Marudhudurai. He gives 10 cents of land to the lower caste people. In front of BOD, Koppuligam willingly accepts it. However, after they left he started demanding the villager’s land by arguing that it belonged to him. To let villagers stay, he demanded the resignation letter from Koozhpaana. Koozhpaana eventually had to resign after Koppuligam’s men beat him. To take revenge Koozhpaana’s father, Marimuthu gives his nomination for the post. Koppuligam forcefully asked them to take the nomination back but when BOD learns about all of this, he removed Koppuligam from the post. BOD makes Koozhpaana the president of the panchayat.
Star Performance
The main character of the story is Koozhpaana. M. Sasikumar played his character in the film. Koozhpaana’s character was complex and challenging. However, Sasikumar handled it very well. Sasikumar’s acting was full of enthusiasm and various emotions. His presence made the film more exciting. Sasikumar’s acting skills were also impressive. Koppuligam is another essential character in the film. Balaji Sakthivel played the role of Koppuligam, who was the villain in the film. Throughout the show, Sakthivel handled Koppuligam’s role very well. Another important character of the story is Marudhudurai. He is BOD in the movie. Samuthirakani played Marudhudurai’s role in the film. Samuthirakani’s acting skills throughout the movie were pretty impressive. His acting was consistent, too. The supporting cast includes G.M. Kumar, Jithan Mohan and Samuthirakani. They also delivered remarkable performances.
Analysis
Executing the film Nandhan was a brave attempt because it requires much effort and time to portray real politics in the cinema. The film’s script is fascinating. Right from the beginning, it captures the focus of the viewers. The script’s climax is also pretty impressive as, in the end, good wins over evil.
The execution of the script is also brilliant. The struggle is shown from the sufferer’s perspective. All the characters in the film are rightly developed and mature. The main and the supporting cast delivered impressive performances. The cinematography is great. The locations used to show confined spaces are also an excellent choice. The soundtracks used in the film are impressive.
The sound effects complemented the script, too. The pace of the show is perfect. The duration of the script is also significant and durable. However, the film might trigger some sensitive concerns of some people.

There are almost no drawbacks to the film. The script and execution are perfect. The film is a watchable movie. One should watch this movie for sure. It is a one-time watch.
