Plot

A religious patriarch in Ayodhya ill-treats his wife, Janaki. They have a college-going girl, Shivani, and a son. On the eve of Diwali, the family plans a trip to Rameshwaram. They take a car to Rameshwaram. Their journey turned out to be a disaster. They meet in an accident, and Janaki dies on the way to the hospital. As she died in the accident, the hospital authorities wanted to do a post-mortem. But her husband doesn’t want that and tries to take her to Kashi on the only flight that starts that day. He suffered a lot to transport her mortal remains to his hometown. A friend of the car driver, who hears all about this, decides to help them reach Kashi. Was that possible? How does his wife’s death affect the arrogant patriarch? The rest of the film showcases the efforts of the person to send them back to Kashi and the transformation of the religious patriarch.

Star Performance

Sasikumar excelled in the role, and his subtle performance helped the story to get elevated. Preethi Asrani fits well in character, and her acting performance is very impressive. Pugazh tried a new role, and it worked out well. Yashpal Sharma’s performance is excellent, and his performance in both extremes worked out well.

Analysis

Though the story has some drawbacks, the way it was executed and the way the stars performed took the story to a great level. The debut director should be appreciated for his excellent try, and his efforts paid off well. The BGM is fantastic, elevating the emotional scenes superbly and connecting the audience with the sequence. The cinematography is neat, and Madhesh’s camera captured both the cities, Rameshwaram and Ayodhya. The top-angle shots were fantastically filmed and helped the audience travel with the story. The production and technical values are pretty impressive.

Verdict

Though there were similar genre films in Tamil, this story is unique, and the film is really shot interestingly well. Try this film if you want to watch a new story with wonderful performances.
