Plot
Thiru and Shamshuddin are talented cricketers in a village. These two were rivals right from their childhood. Shamshu is the son of Moideen Bhai, the religious leader who believes in humanity and loves his nation. A cricket team was launched by him. His son Shamshu and Shamshu's rival Thiru were one of the team members. Due to some people's aversion to Thiru, he was pushed out of the team, and the angry Thiru started a new team. Eventually, it changed into a Hindu-Muslim fight, and many people in the village called the matches between both teams India-Pakistan rivalry matches. Moideen Bhai, who lives in Mumbai, dreams for his son and believes he will play for the nation someday. Was he able to sort out the issue between the two teams and bring peace? The rest of the film deals with this.
Star Performance
It is more than a cameo for Superstar, and he excels in his role. His style, charisma, and dialogue delivery are astonishing. Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth, being cricketers, have naturally done their part well in the field. Their dialogue deliveries were also good.
Analysis
Aishwarya has brought a good social message to the society. Though it is not new, she managed to register a strong message through her Superstar dad, and he fulfilled it perfectly. The length of the film could've been shortened a bit. It is exciting to watch Rajini's dialogues, and it really creates some Goosebumps moments. However, the rest of the characters are not designed 100% perfectly like Moideen Bhai's. Thiru and Shamshu's characters are in that 50-50 position, and if their characters had been developed well, it might have had an extra effect. The costume department should be thanked for designing beautiful outfits that suit the Superstar well. AR Rahman's music is neat. The cinematography is appreciable. Editing could have been better. Many popular stars are seen in the movie, doing prominent roles. The director neatly presented a scene between the father and the son – a family bonding scene that the audience will love.

Verdict
With the Superstar's presence, the film has already grabbed the attention. The rest of the performances have also proved to be crowd-pullers. Lal Salaam – Watchable once!
