Plot
Turbo Jose works as a Jeep driver in Idukki. Due to a situation’s demand, he had to relocate to Chennai. Jose encounters Vetrivel Shanmugasundaram in Chennai. Who is Vetrivel and what is his connection with Jose? Was Jose able to manage all the troubles? The rest of the film speaks about these.
Star Performance
Mammootty’s performance is good, as usual. His action sequences are fantastic. Raj B Shetty, who makes his Mollywood debut, is a good performer. It is also Tollywood star Sunil’s debut in Mollywood. He, too, has done a decent job. Anjana and Bindu have done what is required of them. Shabareesh Varma has a solid role and he made use of the wonderful screen time and presented his portion neatly.
Analysis
The story is a little weak, and the writing is not up to the mark. Yet, the intro scenes of Mammuka and Raj B Shetty are fantastically made. The action sequences are finely designed and the Mega Star excelled in them, even in his 70. Though Mammootty has delivered a good mass entertainer, this is not the thing we expect from him. Mammootty is always a class actor with a power-packed performance. That’s missing in Turbo, which focuses mainly on action. At times we feel that Raj B Shetty’s character is not as powerful as expected, opposite to Mammooty’s Turbo Jose. If his character had been written in depth, it may have elevated his portions. The BGM is fantastic in action scenes and makes the audience enjoy it. Especially in the climax scene, the music director’s work is showcased well.
