Born to C. J. Antony and Liduwa Antony in Changanassery in Kerala, Johny Antony is an Indian film director. He is well known for his comedy movies in the Malayalam film industry. Johny is married to Shyni Antony since 2002 and has two beautiful daughters- Aswathi and Lakshmi with her. He completed his initial school education from St. John’s Baptist High School in Nedumkunnam and his higher education from NSS College in Changanassery. Johny started his career by assisting acclaimed Malayalam director Thulasidas in 1991 in the movie Chanchattam starring Jayaram, Urvashi, Jagathy and Manoj K Jayan.

He worked as the assistant director with Thulasidas in his next two movies- Ezhara Ponnana starring Jayaram, Thilakan and Siddique, and Poochakkaru Mani Kettum starring Mukesh, Siddique, and Kalpana. This romantic comedy was well received by the masses and became a great hit. He next directed megastar Mammootty in the movie Thuruppu Gulan. This film was another comedy flick which put Johny’s name among the list of promising directors in the Malayalam film industry. His next Inspector Garud was again a hit starring Dileep. After delivering back-to-back hits and having worked with the big stars quite early in his career, Johny’s next film was Cycle with actor Vineet Sreenivasan. His next Ee Pattanathil Bhootham was a comedy laced with horror starring Mammootty, Kavya Madhavan, Jagathy and Innocent and did not manage to set the box office on fire.
