Plot
Sree Muthappan was the hero of North Malabar’s lower classes. The people were oppressed by caste and occupation. Sree Muthappan fought for them and became a folklore god.
Star Performance
Manikuttan played the titular role. His performance was above average. Madhupal and Joy Mathew delivered some decent performances. The rest of the stars didn’t meet the expectations.
Analysis
There had been a lot of movies made on the legendary people based upon mythology. While trying to bring them on the big screen, some may slip and some may succeed. To succeed in such stories that were believed by people for centuries and decades, the writing should be strong, and the performers should be properly picked. These necessities are absent in Shree Muthappan. The cinematography is good and the editing is okay. The music composition is pretty decent.

If this story had been shot as a TV film or staged as a theatre drama, it might have worked. It didn’t suit the necessities of a feature film and hence failed to attract the audience!
