1. Kumbasaram

Directed by Anwar Rasheed, this picture has one of the best performances of Jayasurya. It tells the story of a father who does a murder to get money for his son’s treatment. Released in 2015, it did not make much profit from the box-office. Despite a brilliant story and artistic excellence of the actors, the film failed to make much discussion. Honey Rose, Vineeth, Tini Tom, Priyanka Nair, and Master Aakash appeared as other characters.

2. Ozhimuri

With Asif Ali and Bhavana in the lead, the movie discusses the apathy of women in the Nair families of Travancore. Though the film failed to make a commercial success, it opened many critical comments and reviews. Directed by Madhupal, it has Lal, Mallika, and Shweta Menon playing other significant characters. Ozhimuri means divorce in English.

3. Theevram

This film exposes the artistic talent of Dulquer Salmaan to the extent. Directed by the debutant Roopesh Peethambaran, it failed at the box-office but proved to be a suspense thriller. It tells the story of the revenge of a husband against the one who killed his wife. Shikha Nair, Vishnu Raghav, Riya Saira, Sreenivasan, and Vinay Fort played other roles.

4. Apothecary

Directed by Madhav Ramdasan, this film has some of the best performances of Jayasurya, Asif Ali, Indrans, and Suresh Gopi. With a gripping story, it leaves the audience crying at last. The picture tells the story of a multispecialty hospital that oozes out lives from poor patients for their financial gains. Released in 2014, it failed to gain expected success at the theaters.

5. Nirnayakam

Directed by V. K Prakash, this movie won a National Award in 2015 for the Best Film on Social Issues. With the script of Bobby and Sanjay, it has Asif Ali, Prem Prakash, Sanusha, Nedumudi Venu, and Malavika Mohan in the lead. The performance of Prem Prakash as Advocate Siddarth Shankar got praises from the critics and audience.

6. Nayakan

With Indrajith as the hero, this 2010 film directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, tells the story of revenge. The performance of Indrajith as Varadanunni, a Kathakali artist is commendable. He takes revenge on the underworld don Shankar Das for killing his father and sister. Siddique, Jagathy Sreekumar, Kalasala Babu, and Thilakan play other characters in the movie. It received many positive reviews and critical appreciations but failed to make a commercial success.

7. Bombay March 12

With the theme of the 1993 Bombay bomb blasts, this film directed by Babu Janardharan stars Mammootty in the lead as the character Sameer. Despite the gripping story and plot, the picture failed at the box-office. However, it gained a critical success and positive reviews. Mumbai, Hyderabad, Rajasthan, and Kerala were the chief locations. The cinematography of Vipin Mohan also received appreciation.

8. Kadal Kadannu Oru Maathukutty

Directed by Ranjith, this film has Mammootty in the title role. Shot in Kerala and Germany, it tells the story of an ordinary man settled in Germany who comes back to his place for a few days. Nedumudi Venu, Muthumani, Balachandra Menon, and Meera Nandan played other roles in it. Produced by August Cinemas, it did not make much profit, but retained the production cost.

9. Arike

With Dileep as the hero, this movie directed by Shyamaprasad tells about the different kinds of love relationships experienced by different persons. Samvrutha Sunil and Mamta Mohandas appeared as the heroines. Though it opened too many critical appreciations, the film did not make expected success at the box-office. It is an adaptation of a short story by the Bengali writer Sunil Gangopadhyay.

10. Munnariyippu

With Mammootty and Aparna Gopinath in the lead, this 2014 film directed by Venu managed to get many critical reviews and comments but failed to perform well at the theaters. It is an investigation thriller that tells the story of C. K Raghavan, a prisoner sentenced for double homicide. It has Nedumudi Venu, Prathap Pothan, Reji Panicker, and Joy Mathew in other roles.
