Plot
Karunakara Menon was a Gandhian. His son Gopinatha Menon settled overseas, leaving his aged parents in their hometown. He couldn’t feel the pain of his parents when he disowned them. But, when his children did it to him, he understood that how selfish, he was. He returns to his native and serves the tribal people. He helps people around him, stops his neighbor from his alcoholic habits, keeps his environment fresh, etc.
Star Performance
Rajasenan’s role is a preachy kind. So, he had to react a bit over. Gopakumar performed well.
Analysis
The plot is really good to hear. But, the screenplay and the execution are a bit slow. If a message is being told in an entertaining way, it would affect none. If it is preachy, then people don’t even care even if the story and performances are good. That’s what happened to Priyappettavar. As the role of Rajasenan is very preachy, the film lost its worth. Besides this, the film is very lengthy for its simple content. The cinematography is good. The background score and songs are impressive.
