This film sets an example of a contemporary world teenage boy who looks forward to food and alcohol to keep him going for 24 hours of his day. Yogi Duniya is a film directed by the debutant director Hari, who has bought into light all the modern day issues and given it meaning through this movie. Starring Yogi and Hithaa Chandrasekhar.
Plot:
This film revolves around a young boy named Yogi, and how he is addicted to the world of gambling and betting. Amidst of living a dangerous life, he cites a girl named Sheela and dreams about her to be the perfect girl he has been looking for his entire life. But the story doesn’t go so smooth without any twists and turns. What happens when they cross paths? Yogi has spotted his love at first sight, but is that simple from the girls end? Sheela is a girl who has come to terms with the reality of her life and how she is stuck in her life as a commercial sex worker. Meanwhile, when Yogi tries to interpret what he feels for Sheela, she tries to push him away from her trying to convince him not to get involved with a person like her as they don’t have a future together in a judgmental society like this. But as love has no boundaries, Yogi finds himself to be compelled in the world of gambling hoping to make enough money to be able to make Sheela stop with her work and give her a peaceful life. Analysis:
Debutant director Hari has woven the story around the lives of those unfortunate people who can’t get rid of their addiction and those women who feel trapped in a different lifestyle and have no hope in leading a normal life.
Star performance:
Yogi proves himself yet again as a dancing star along with perfect dialogue delivery. Hithaa does justice to her character and performance is appreciable. The entire cast has done a decent job with their performances.
What’s there?
1. The dialogues are the USP of the film.
2. The music and the background score are an additional captivating thing about the film.
3. The lead actors have an able supporting cast and crew backing them up.
What’s not there?
1. There are many problems with the flow of the story.
2. The characters in the film should have been carried out with a little more depth.
Verdict:
This film has many strings attached to the concept of life-changing decisions and will make you ponder upon the choices you should make. It is a movie worth watching.
