Plot
The film follows Maude Garrett, played by Chloë Grace Moretz; Garrett is a Royal Air Force Pilot Officer. In August 1943, she arrived at the airbase at night and boards a B-17 bomber with her mission to travel with a top-secret package. The plane’s crew welcomes her with disdain, and she is seated in the empty ball turret. Since there was no place for her package, she allowed a friendly crew member, Walter Quaid, played by Taylor John Smith, to keep it. Maude Garrett sees another aircraft in the clouds, confirmed by another crew member, but the rest of the crew ignored them. She also reported the crew about a strange creature that attached itself to the underside of the aircraft, but her warnings are again ignored by the crew. The film follows their journey while being targeted by enemy aircraft and strange winged creatures, unraveling Garrett’s secrets and their fight for survival.
