Five years after Hiccup, and his dragon friend, Toothless have restored the peace between humans and Dragons in the land of Berk. One day, Hiccup and his girlfriend come across a mysterious island of ice and also another unknown Dragon rider with many more wild dragons and another sinister chief whose dragon hunting methods put a lot more at stake than the lives of just a few dragons.
Plot: As Hiccup’s father is about to retire, and he wants to hand over the Chieftain to Hiccup, Hiccup is wrapped up in many other issues like the villainous chief who is trying to form a dragon army and also hunting down many dragons. Moreover, he also comes to meet his mother, who was presumed dead, as she now has retired into some remote hills as a hermit, taking care of wild dragons and living peacefully among them. However, there are more pressing matters when Hiccup’s friends run into the clutches of Dragon, the one who is trying to build a dragon and come to find out that his plans are much bigger and darker than they have ever imagined.
The voice actors of this movie are a great contribution to this beautiful sequel, as actors like
Jay Baruchel
and
Gerard Butler
continue to entertain us from the previous movie. Additions of Kit Harrington and
Cate Blanchett
are also very interesting as their characters breathe new life into this. This movie is filled with many emotional moments like the reunion of Hiccup and his father with mother, the flashback of the time when his mother had been carried away after a dragon attack in Berk, and also the death of Hiccup’s father in a very tragic incident. The action sequences are also equally intriguing and exciting as we come across innumerable more wild dragons of different colors, shapes and sizes and the two big fights between the two biggest dragons ever.
The perfect combination of action packed scenes and emotional scenes and also the moments of utter awe are what makes this movie a breathless roller-coaster ride. The animations of Dreamworks is impeccable as the 3D effects have been used to its fullest extent to give the audience a bigger and brighter experience than the last movie.
Verdict: To this exciting new sequel about the wonderful relationship between Vikings and dragons, I give this movie 5 out of 5 victories.
