ANALYSIS:Â
The fact that the director is inspired by 80's era is clearly visible. But instead of delivering a reference to those scenes, the director reproduces the whole scenes again on screen. A few memorable lines from 80's movies are used. The conversation between the parents and Emma are really good. It is the only adult conversation present in the film. The scenes where Emma's parents are present are always amiable and lovely. Few one- liners used by Emma are catchy.Â
STAR PERFORMANCES:Â
Emma maintains a delicate balance between knowing everything, and the attitude of not caring about stuff. The character sketch of her is poor, as she is not provided with much awareness. Penn Badgley appears at the right time on screen, and he is adorable. Unfortunately, he does not have a strong role. WHAT'S THERE?
The moral of the movie is fame may lead us to the wrong path. This moral was well explained by the protagonist, and the problems faced by her.Â
WHAT'S NOT THERE?
Some preaching is carried by the antagonist in the movie, that at times looks so annoying.Â
